Hi Marc!
I appreciate your interest about making this solution available for everyone.
But I consider this solution as a workaround : this is acceptable only if you edit a pdf one time.
When studying solutions, we have to analyse benefits and drawbacks in a global overview.
Mine comes with some limitations:
- degrade quality each time you edit a pdf (because it transform pdf pages into images)
- an edited pdf file cannot be used properly in another pdf editing tool (Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat reader, Microsoft Word, LibreOffice, and so on…)
Consequently a good pdf edition library should store in memory a tree representing all pdf components, like used pdf creation library does.
Added to that, in my opinion, the pub package website contains too much unfinished or poorly designed libraries : it looks more workarounds or proof of concept (POC) than libraries. And I don’t want to contribute to that mess.
So in another words: a workaround should stay a workaround, as a POC should stay a POC ;)
