Don't be wrong: that not the same thing (purpose ?).

In your case, you will do extra steps to use vertical or horizontal layout. You determine percisely the design, and in a certain way you impose the width of children.

=> more control, but more complex to code

Whereas OverflowBar widget handle width for you, by trying to display children in their NATURAL size.

=> easier to code, but less control

There is best solution; both ways have advantages and drawbacks.
